Below are some creative and well informed arguments in support of the policies of Israel. These comments were made by Gabriel Latner a Cambridge University law student who argued that Israel is a rogue state but that rogue in this case = good.
Following his comments I have listed some arguments in opposition.
Arguments in Opposition:
What of Israel's many Muslim citizens, whose ancestors had been living in Palestine much longer than most of today's Israelis? Is it fair that only the Jewish religion is enshrined in the constitution?
What about Israel's seizure of the West bank and its progressive eviction of its Muslim inhabitants from many of the best areas? Where is the justification for that in international law?
Might makes right is the only thing that occurs to me.
What about Israel's "separation" barrier, "pass laws," etc., that to the visitor seem much like South Africa's apartheid (separate development) system? If you accept that Israel's seizure of Palestine land was illegal, do these actions accentuate the illegality?
If Israel continues to grab land in the West bank and evict the Palestinians, isn't its long term future doubtful?
